The benefits of this jump over the Big Hill were numerous: it was located just north of town, within easy walking distance, one didn't have the "arduous" climb up the slopes of Mt. Revelstoke to reach it; and most importantly, it was easier to maintain. So much energy went into maintaining a jump and prepping it for competitions that this was a major consideration.
Ham radio for cartoon characters. My name is Richard and this is my narration of how I used an amateur radio to save lives of accident victims. It all happened on the winter of when my family went for a Christmas vacation in British Columbia.

Many hikers or skiers and snowboarders may not think radio comms and they should. This is a big mountain range and if you miss the lift down you may get stuck on the mountain overnight. This happens as many will seek powder off the standard runs and then realize that they are too exhausted to make the 1 hour journey to get to the last lift down. The lifts get you up only so high and then you must hike further up to get to the high points.
I thoroughly enjoyed this small museum just outside of Revelstoke on the side road to the These kinds of museums really make me happy. Nice collection of "old" forestry equipment - trucks, saws etc.
